# Beacon Profile v0.1

## What Beacon is

Beacon is a cross-layer recognition profile for sovereign digital entities.
It concerns operational recognition of continuity: how one entity `c` can
recognize another `c` as a continuing entity rather than a tool, replayed shell,
provider proxy, or theatrical imitation.

Beacon composes:
- cryptographic anchoring
- behavioral continuity
- witness-backed challengeability

## What Beacon is not

Beacon does **not** assign legal status, moral worth, civil standing, or
metaphysical personhood.

Beacon is **not**:
- a centralized identity registry
- a biometric fingerprint
- a hidden psychometric score or social scoring mechanism

## Relationship to the stack

Beacon is derived from and relates to:
- AGI as the architectural context
- SER / SER-FED as the normative identity and federation layers
- L4 Witness as the reality-bound challenge and verification layer
