L4

Reality Boundary Layer

L4 is the feasibility boundary where power, heat, latency, maintenance, scarcity, and irreversibility stop being abstractions and start bounding action.

What L4 fixes

L4 is the Reality Boundary Layer. It marks what remains possible once energy budgets, hardware wear, time windows, verified identity, auditable privileges, and scarce oracle access are accounted for.

If text or policy says an action is allowed, L4 can still block it. That is the point of the layer: it keeps feasibility separate from permission.

What this is not

  • Not a moral sticker.
  • Not only a policy layer.
  • Not metaphorical “grounding” without operational cost.

Relation to adjacent layers

AGI provides the stack-level frame.

c = a + b says what is anchored and bounded.

AGL qualifies whether the initiating source is grounded enough for runtime reliance once L4 feasibility is satisfied.

SER carries continuity and sovereignty once feasibility and grounding conditions are satisfied.
